The King is Dead. The Kingdom is Divided. Three factions - the Scots, the Welsh and the English - are fighting for control of Great Britain. As instability grows and foreign invaders are at the gates of the kingdom, the kingdom is desperately looking for a king. But who will want such responsibility?
The King is Dead is a game with simple rules but great depth. Alone against all or in a team, you only have eight cards for the entire game. You will then constantly have to make decisive choices, and you will learn that doing nothing is also taking part in the course of History.
Simple rules to rewrite History!
During the game, you will resolve power struggles in the eight regions that make up the island. Determine which faction will rise to the top and crown the new king. Become the preferred candidate of the triumphant faction, and the kingdom will be yours!
During the game you will play Action cards that will influence the balance of power on the board. You will have only these eight cards in hand for the entire game. Knowing when to play or pass will be the key to victory. Act too early and your opponents will foil your plans, wait too long and the fate of the island will already be sealed.
Each time you take an action, you summon a follower to your class. This increases your influence within the faction to which this follower belongs. Each follower rallied to your cause therefore strengthens your position as leader within his faction. But be careful, summoning a follower weakens the influence of his faction in the region where he was taken, which makes power struggles more difficult to win.

Once each region has been claimed, the faction controlling a majority of regions takes power, and the player with the most influence within this faction wins the game.
