British Colour Standard - Striped Pillar Candle Old Rose-Indigo-Pompadour | 10 cm / 3.9 in

The discovery of an old colour dictionary in a second hand shop re-launched this long forgotten brand, first established in 1931. A treasure trove of colour and steeped in history, the book was used to standardize colours across the British Empire until the late 1950s. The names are derived and inspired from nature, flora & fauna, as well as semi-precious stones and spices. Scanned and digitalized, these colours and names formed the foundation of the new British Colour Standard homeware & gift collection

• Bring colour to the mantlepiece or table! Stearin is an ideal choice for striped candles as the crisper/harder wax allows the colourful layers to be poured cleanly & neatly between colour changes
• These handcrafted striped candles are manually poured layer by layer into tubular moulds. Each colour layer must set before the next can be added. We do not recommend selling these loose
• Designed in the UK, these candles are lovely décor items even when not lit, and also make a great gift! Natural, non-toxic and biodegradable, with a burn time of up to 36 hours
• Stearin wax, cotton wick
